HDSA GEORGIA CHAPTER SOCIAL WORKER – CHARLOTTE SORENSEN, LMSW
Charlotte Sorensen is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 20 years of experience serving as an agent of support and guidance for children, families, and individuals. For the past seven years, she has focused her work on serving individuals and families living with ALS and Huntington’s Disease. She currently serves as the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) Social Worker covering Tennessee and Georgia and recently joined the HDSA National Youth Alliance as a Youth Social Worker. Charlotte earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, concentration in Human Services at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Charlotte is originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, but has called Tennessee home for many years. She currently lives in Knoxville with her three children — Hannah, Christopher, and Harrison — and, most importantly, the family pug, Mrs. Gibbs.

HDSA COE EMORY UNIVERSITY SOCIAL WORKER– RUSSELL BROWN, LCSW
Russell Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Emory Brain Health Center’s Movement Disorder Clinic. Russell has over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families as they navigate the difficulty of mental health concerns and severe physical illnesses. For the past 3 years, Russell has worked with individuals and families living with Huntington’s Disease. Russell earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Master’s Degree in Social Worker from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Russell is originally from Illinois, but has called Atlanta home for over 25 years. In his free time, Russell loves to spend time with his wife Jasmine, and two daughters, Zoey and Sydney.
